Our offices in Bayston Hill |
Founded in 1975 (originally as the NAC Housing
Association) the Association completed its first housing
scheme at Hadnall in 1982 building 10 bungalows
principally for retired agricultural workers. Since then
the Association has grown steadily and now owns over 250
properties throughout the county and provides
appropriate accommodation for families, couples, single
people and the elderly.
The Association is registered with the Tenant's
Servicing Authority and The Homes and Communities Agency which
regulates its activities making available grants to enable it to develop
more affordable housing. It is also a member of the
Community Council for Shropshire.
At its base in Shrewsbury, SRHA currently employs 6 full
and part-time staff and is governed by a Board made up
entirely of unpaid volunteers. From among members of
that Board and its functional committees the Association
operates a popular system of pastoral care for its
residents as volunteers assume responsibility for
particular housing schemes and visit their residents to
discuss with them any problems they may have.
SRHA is committed to continually improving the services
it provides to its own residents and those of other
providers as well as aiming to increase access to
affordable rural homes for those in need.
