Shropshire Rural Housing Association is a charitable organisation, which specialises in providing appropriate and affordable housing for rent for people in need in the rural areas of Shropshire.

Founded in 1975 (originally as the NAC Housing Association) the Association completed its first housing scheme at Hadnall in 1982 building 10 bungalows principally for retired agricultural workers. Since then the Association has grown steadily and now owns over 200 properties throughout the county and provides appropriate accommodation for families, couples, single people and the elderly.

The Association is registered with the Housing Corporation, which regulates its activities as well as making available to it grants to enable it to develop more affordable housing. It is also a member of the Community Council for Shropshire.

At its base in Shrewsbury, SRHA currently employs 7 full and part-time staff and is governed by a Board made up entirely of unpaid volunteers. From among members of that Board and its functional committees the Association operates a popular system of pastoral care for its residents as volunteers assume responsibility for particular housing schemes and visit their residents to discuss with them any problems they may have.

As well as managing its own homes SRHA also manages 4 homes on behalf of the Trustees of Much Wenlock Almshouses and 6 homes in Shrewsbury for Derwent Living. Over time the Association intends to extend its policy of offering services to other housing providers where appropriate.

SRHA is committed to continually improving the services it provides to its own residents and those of other providers as well as aiming to increase access to affordable rural homes for those in need.
